Elmer Fudd

We have one of those drawers that just collects stuff. You know what I mean... we all have one. Okay, maybe two! Anyway, this particular drawer is for the games, cards, fun stuff like that. The other day I asked Meriam to take all of the cards out of that drawer and match them up by sets. If there wasn't an entire deck it just needed to get thrown out.

As she was matching the decks she was particularly interested in the Looney Toon set.

Meriam (holding up a card): "Is this Elmer Fudd?"

Me: "No, that's Yosemite Sam."

Meriam: "Oh okay."

A couple of minutes later....

Meriam: "So did Elmer Fudd invent Elmer's Glue?"

Me: "Um. No."

Meriam (slightly said with attitude): "Well how do you know?"

Me: "Ummmm...because he's a cartoon?"

Meriam: "Oh yeah, that makes sense!"

IT

This weekend we were enjoying a BBQ with my family when my ex-husband showed up. This is the text conversation that then took place between Meriam and myself:

Meriam: Is IT going to stay?

Me: Don't ask me... IT's yours not mine.

Meriam: It is your fault IT's mine.

Me: Maybe so but the fact is that IT's still yours!

*A few minutes later*

Meriam: You're a trooper for doing him. :)

They do that already??

This was our dinner time conversation:

Meriam: They should make something like Netflix... but for books!

Me (with a leading tone of voice): You mean, like where you borrow a book and return it when you're done.....

Meriam (light bulb moment): Oh wait, that's like a Library huh?

The smartness on being dumb

The other afternoon I was cleaning the kitchen, while Meriam was doing something at the counter. Just sort of out the blue she said...

"Ya know, I am NOT dumb... I JUST DON'T LIKE TO THINK!!!"

Priceless! *Ü*

Cardiac Arrest

I've been having some weird problems with my heart lately. It really wears me out and makes me tired. Yesterday was Father's Day so the kids and I went to their dad's house to wish him a Happy Father's Day.

After visiting for a couple hours I was worn out and ready to go home to bed. Abu was driving and Meriam was in the back seat. Meriam kept going on about wanting to go get some ice cream. I told them they could drop me off and then go. After she brought it up a couple more times, Abu said "Would ya stop, if we went for ice cream she'd probably go into cardiac arrest in the drive thru."

Meriam came back with, "Well that's dumb! Why would they arrest her for having cardiac problems??!?"
